Floor General
HAN · PAS · CLU
Secure creation first, then add 3PT and PDEF.
Tradeoff: Lower highlight scoring, but the safest all-season profile.
Real engine data · PG
A strong PG is built from control outward: HAN and PAS run the possession, 3PT creates spacing, and CLU protects the close games that decide an 82-game record.
Position identity
Point Guard is the least forgiving position for a disconnected draft. The engine gives HAN and PAS the joint-highest weight, so a famous scorer cannot rescue a build that cannot create. Your first job is to secure two elite engine attributes; only then should you chase extra scoring or defensive luxury.

No guessed rankings
These values are read directly from the same OVR formula used after your 13th pick. Weight share shows how much of the position's normalized rating comes from that slot; a better grade still matters at every weight.
| Rank | Attribute | Meaning | Weight | Share |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | HAN | Ball Handle | 3.0 | 16.1% |
| 2 | PAS | Passing / Vision | 3.0 | 16.1% |
| 3 | 3PT | Three-Point Shooting | 2.5 | 13.4% |
| 4 | CLU | Clutch / IQ | 2.0 | 10.8% |
| 5 | ATH | Athleticism | 1.5 | 8.1% |
| 6 | FIN | Finishing | 1.5 | 8.1% |
| 7 | MID | Midrange | 1.5 | 8.1% |
| 8 | PDEF | Perimeter Defense | 1.5 | 8.1% |
| 9 | DNK | Dunking | 0.5 | 2.7% |
| 10 | REB | Rebounding | 0.5 | 2.7% |
| 11 | STR | Strength / Physicality | 0.5 | 2.7% |
| 12 | BLK | Blocks | 0.3 | 1.6% |
| 13 | IDEF | Interior Defense | 0.3 | 1.6% |
Rounds 1–13
Treat A-range HAN or PAS as an early lock. Both carry a 3.0 weight, and replacing either late is harder than finding usable finishing.
Add 3PT before doubling down on MID. Three-point shooting carries more weight and gives the build a clearer second strength.
Use CLU as the bridge between a good rating and a good season. It is more valuable to PG than rebounding, interior defense, blocks, strength, or dunking combined individually.
Patch PDEF or ATH after the offensive spine is safe. The goal is not a lockdown guard; it is avoiding one obvious weakness without diluting creation.
Three viable identities
HAN · PAS · CLU
Secure creation first, then add 3PT and PDEF.
Tradeoff: Lower highlight scoring, but the safest all-season profile.
HAN · 3PT · MID
Build self-created offense, then rescue PAS before the final rounds.
Tradeoff: Higher scoring ceiling; poor late PAS creates an OVR tax.
HAN · PAS · PDEF
Use ATH and CLU as support, with one reliable shooting grade.
Tradeoff: Harder to assemble because four useful categories compete early.
From the current 94-player pool
You may steal an attribute from any player on the spun team; the donor does not need to play PG. These are the first top-grade candidates found in the live fan-simulation dataset for the five largest weights.

Information changes the plan
What drags the OVR down
| Mistake | Why it costs | Correction |
|---|---|---|
| Taking MID before HAN or PAS | MID helps, but its 1.5 weight is only half of either creation stat. | Lock at least one 3.0-weight creator before secondary scoring. |
| Building a pure scorer | High 3PT and FIN cannot fully offset weak creation in the PG weighting. | Use one scoring lane, then spend the next premium pick on PAS or HAN. |
| Overpaying for defense | PDEF is useful, but stacking IDEF and BLK consumes slots with 0.3 weights. | Take one perimeter stopper grade and leave interior categories for safe late picks. |

This is a planning benchmark, not a guaranteed draft or season result. Every run still depends on team spins and available donors.
HAN and PAS are tied at the top of the engine weighting. Choose the better available A-range grade first, then prioritize the other.
No. PDEF has real value, but one good perimeter grade is usually enough. Interior defense and blocks are low-impact PG slots.
If PAS or HAN is still weak, creation usually wins. If the creation spine is already safe, elite 3PT becomes the correct ceiling pick.
