Build a Hooper NBA
Build a Hooper, Build a Bucket, Build a Player — same game, three names. This is the strategy layer: the modes, how positions score, and the math behind chasing a perfect season.
The three modes
- Classic — every grade is visible before you pick. The cleanest way to learn what a strong build looks like.
- Blind — your position is set but grades stay hidden until the final reveal. You draft on archetype and instinct.
- Chaos — position is hidden too, and each round only exposes a few of your open slots. Highest variance, highest bragging rights.
There's also a Dailyseed — everyone gets the same boards that day, so it's the fair way to compare runs.
Positions score differently
The same 13 grades produce a different OVR depending on position, because each position weights the attributes toward its real job:
- Point guard leans on ball-handling, passing, and shooting.
- Wings want shooting, perimeter defense, and rebounding.
- Bigs are carried by rebounding, interior defense, and blocks.
That's why a build that's elite at center can be mediocre at guard. Match your picks to the position's priorities.
The 82-0 chase
A perfect season is genuinely rare — it's 82 straight coin-flips that all have to land your way, and your OVR sets how weighted those flips are. Push your overall as high as your position allows, cover every slot, and avoid the one weakness that costs you a game. Even then, 82-0 is a moonshot. That's what makes the 82-0 challenge worth chasing.
